Day 38: June 23
I have officially chosen the training plan I will follow along my journey to NYC 2015, Hal Higdon Marathon Novice I. It is the most widely used marathon training program and for good reason. It is specifically designed to get you properly prepped for the starting line and smoothly across the finish line.
I'll be running Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday with one day of supplemental cross-training on Sunday. According to the program, strength training (if done at all) should be performed on Tuesdays and Thursday after the runs are completed. I'm not sure if that is the strength training schedule I will stick to, but I will definitely be sticking to the general running schedule.
Monday is officially the first day and I am excited to begin!
