Day 43: June 28
Over the past 43 days I have been mentally preparing myself for the 26.2 miles to NYC. These past 6 weeks have been a pre-training conditioning phase. To ensure that I finish (and with a sub 4:00 time), I have done my own training that was as much a mental preparation as a physical one.
This past 43 days were kind of a symbolic conditioning phase. Around mile 20 many runners hit The Infamous Wall. The last 10k (6.2 miles) becomes pure hell. These past 6.14 weeks of training will help serve as a mental refuge during those hard patches.
Phase 1 is now complete.
